Joined Sparebanken Vest in 1999 and CEO from 31 October 2013. Previously Deputy Managing Director 2006 - 2013. Chair of the board of Eviny, Brage Finans and Frende Forsikring. Member of the board of Finance Norway and Savings Banks Association. Former chair of the board of Port of Bergen, Bergen Chamber of Commerce, Finance Innovation and member of the board of Nets and Vipps. Graduate in marketing from the Norwegian School of Marketing and holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and an Executive MBA in Brand Management from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

He has a wide-ranging background from the banking industry and has held several management positions in the bank, including as head of both the Retail Market and Corporate Market. Chairman of Sparebanken Vest Boligkreditt AS and Norne Securities AS, board member of Factoring Finans AS. Former board member of Verd Boligkreditt AS, Jonsvollskvartalet AS, Jonsvoll Utleie AS and Eiendomskreditt AS. Has a law degree from the University of Bergen as well as an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). He has also completed the AFF Solstrand leadership programme.

Head of Risk Management/CRO since 27 September 2019. Previously he was Credit Risk Director since he joined the bank in 2015. He has also extensive experience from the risk advisory business at PwC, corporate banking business at Handelsbanken where he held at management position as well as consultant at Accenture. He is an authorised financial analyst (AFA) and holds a master’s degree in business economics (siviløkonom) from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Graduated with a law degree from the University of Bergen and a diploma from BI Norwegian Business School.

Simen Løland Aarskog (1983)

Head of Retail Market South since 23 March 2020. Prior to his appointment as EVP Aarskog worked as regional director at Sparebanken Vest with responsibility for the corporate market in Sunnhordland and Haugalandet. Employed at Sparebanken Vest since 2012. He has previous background from Danske Bank, as well as SATS fitnes cenre chain. He has held various board positions within voluntary work, business and power industries. Aarskog is educated in economics from Trondheim School of Economics and educated in Sports and Movement Science from NTNU.
